“You never make the same brownies,” my youngest says.
Yes, It is very true.
Baking can be like Jazz, merging composition and improvisation, fast or slow.
Brownies are one of those recipes that invites us to play, create.
To a basic recipe you can use any flour, fat or toppings. I had some leftover fermented rye meal and went
Sourdough Rye Meal Brownies
½ cup of chocolate chips
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
½ cup of butter
1 cup of sugar (or to taste)
2 large eggs
¼ tsp salt
½ cup of fermented rye meal ( I used Maine Grains)
In a bowl mix fermented rye meal with eggs.
In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter with chocolate and cocoa powder and salt. Remove from heat, and stir in sugar. Add mixture to the flour and Bake 350F for 25-27 minutes.
